With summer in full swing, clear skin is a must. Beach time, lake trips, hiking, biking, swimming and other outdoor activities mean less makeup – and more of your natural skin being on display. You’ll want to do everything you can to keep it healthy and clear all season long.
This super easy facial mask will clarify and soften your skin. It will help heal any red, inflamed blemishes and will also clear out your pores to prevent acne in the future. Your skin will be left feeling super soft and glowy. And the best part? You can likely find the ingredients in your cupboard as we speak.
In addition to taking just a few minutes to prep, it is all natural too – keeping your skin free from harsh chemicals.

Ingredients:
- 2 Tbs Baking Soda
- 2 1/4 Tbs Honey
- Small Jar with Tight Lid
Instructions:
- Mix baking soda and honey together until well blended and smooth. Mixture will be creamy and golden colored.
- Apply a thin layer to your face and let it set for 30 minutes.
- Rinse off with warm water and or a warm washcloth. Your face may be a little flushed at first, but will settle down within a few minutes revealing soft, clarified skin. Any blemishes will be minimized and your pores will be refreshed. Apply your regular moisturizer afterwards.
Repeated treatments will help even more with reducing redness and healing acne. This recipe should give you enough for a few applications, or a week’s worth if you apply it every other day.
If continuing with repeated treatments, store the mixture in the small jar for up to a week, keeping the lid tightly sealed. I like to keep the little jars from my night creams once they are used up. They make perfect containers for these homemade, do-it-yourself facial treatments.

I’m definitely trying this! Thanks!

I think my daughter would find this very helpful!

Jennifer,
Try “Adult Acnomel”. I am 51 and had really bad acne just like you. I picked and squeezed my face SO much I had dermabrasion in the hospital done on my face. I STILL break out but hardly at all because I wear Acnomel (tinted) every night and if I have a small one ready to start, I’ll dab a little on it under my foundation. AND I have to tell you I have beautiful skin now and I look over ten years younger than I really am.
The two ingredients in “Adult Acnomel (tinted)”, are Sulphor and Resorcinol. They will make your skin Peel, so you want to use a GOOD OIL-FREE MOISTERIZER! Clinique has a
Great one. OK, good luck! Oh, Acnomel is pretty hard to find, but it is sold at Rite-Aid in NH. BTW, this was originally a Prescription item.
Good Luck Again, Jill
