I love buying nice, quality clothes for my kids, but sometimes I don’t love the price tags that come along with them. I am on a budget and making that budget stretch to meet the needs of my children is easier than it looks if you know where to shop. I have listed some of my go to stores below and what to look for at each.
TJMaxx/Marshalls
TJMaxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post are all owned by the same parent company, so they offer a similar shopping experience. TJMaxx and Marshalls focus on clothing and accessories for the entire family, along with some decor and housewares. I love shopping these stores for myself, and even more for my kiddos. I love that I can find designer name brands at a fraction of the cost. Brands I have seen and purchased in their children’s sections include Juicy Couture, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Bahama, and more. They also carry sporty name brands such as Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Puma and Reebok.
For these stores I prefer shopping in person, but they also have a great online selection. Their free shipping threshold is $89.
Carter’s
Carter’s exclusively produces clothing for kids, so you can count on them to have the latest trends and styles for your younger crowd while still catering to their age group. I love shopping them for staples like leggings, shorts, and solid color tees, especially when they are running one of their “doorbuster” sales.
If I need a plain white tee or a pair of black leggings for one of my kiddos, Carter’s is the first place I check. If you are shopping online, they always offer free shipping with a purchase of $35 or more or they conveniently offer curbside pickup.
Old Navy/Gap Kids
One of my favorite things to buy from Gap Kids are their pajamas. The price might be a little higher than other brands and options, but I love the quality and I trust that they will last a long time. I also love that they highlight their sales and promotions directly on their website, making sure customers get the best price.
At Old Navy, they often put their leggings and pants for toddlers and big kids on sale and they have a ton of fun prints to choose from. In addition, they have affordable options for cute shoes. The free shipping threshold for these stores is $50, but that is before discount codes, so I can often get a purchase of $30 shipped for free and since these stores are affiliated, you can made one purchase with items from both retailers, just use the tabs at their top of their website pages to switch between brands.
What about you? Do you have a favorite retailer to shop your kiddo’s clothing? Tell us all about it in the comments!
