Product Review: belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

I. Love. This. Stuff.

Belif’s The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb is a cream moisturizer for normal to dry skin types. I originally tried this product as a sample, and quickly fell in love. I immediately added it to my regular skin care list. It is amazing!

Belif is a Korean skin care brand. Many Korean brands are gaining popularity over here in the states. If this product is any indication of the quality of their other products, they may be one of my new favorite skin care lines.

I’ve mentioned before how hard it is to find a moisturizer that feels like it really reaches the deepest layers of your skin. Well, this is a product (one of the few I’ve found) that truly meets the mark.

My skin tends to be very dry and so I’m very picky when it comes to rich moisturizers. I can’t use just any product. This one is among the cream of the crop. I apply it, and after less than a minute, my skin feels deeply moisturized and soft. My skin literally just drinks it right up.

I’ve tried way too many moisturizers that just kind of sit on top of the skin, leaving it slimy on top, but tight and dry underneath. I can’t stand that feeling – it makes me cringe. This moisturizer does the complete opposite. My skin feels revitalized, healthy and plumped up from the inside out. I could not be more obsessed with how deeply soft and supple it feels afterward.

belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb PrettyThrifty.comI love the texture of this moisturizer. Unlike some of the thicker deep moisturizers, this one is a lighter cream formula. It is absorbed quickly, soaking in nicely within a minute or so of application. Depending on your skin type, it may absorb a little more slowly.

One of my favorite things about this product is the scent. It’s kind of like a light, creamy, citrus type scent. Delish. I might be in love.

The packaging gets an A+. It’s an apothecary style jar that’s simple, easy to open and great for travel. The lid twists on and off, eliminating the chance that the lid accidentally pops open.

One thing to note is that this product doesn’t have any active ingredients (alpha-hydroxy acid or retinol, etc.). This moisturizer is meant to deeply moisturize your skin, but it isn’t a product that will deliver long term anti-aging results. To tackle these issues over time, I would use a separate anti-aging serum underneath this moisturizer.

The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb is $38 for the 1.7 oz. size. This one is quite a bit more expensive than my drugstore brand favorite, L’Oreal Collagen Moisture Filler (which is a more affordable one at about $10 for the same size jar). The L’Oreal one is a great option if the belif one is out of your price range. However, it’s important to pick and choose where to save and where to spend. If you’re able to splurge a little, a perfect moisturizer is the place to do it. πŸ™‚ When I do buy this product, I wait until Sephora has their 20% off sale and then I stock up on it – along with my other skin care staples.

For those who want to try more of a lighter moisturizer, belif does have a sister product, The True Cream Aqua Bomb. It has more of a gel-like texture, which is almost a pale bluish-green color. As opposed to the Moisturizing Bomb, which is for normal to dry skin types, the Aqua Bomb is for normal to oily skin types. I haven’t reviewed that one yet, but I have a container ready to try and I’ll keep you guys posted once I do!
